This means that mice can operate independently, but the keyboard will be shared among all users. This may feel unintuitive because typically, you expect to type in a window once you click on it. However, when user B clicks on another window and tries to start typing, they'll actually continue typing in Notepad since the keyboard is paired with user A, who didn't click on any other window. ![]() In practical terms, user B doesn't have their own keyboard - they're simply following the focus of user A's window. User B takes over and types on the same keyboard. When user A clicks on Notepad and starts typing, both users are interacting with the desktop using their own mouse. In this setup, there are two mice attached to a single computer, making it feel unusual at first. ![]() Here's a use case to explain why paired keyboards might be useful: You'll notice that both your mouse and keyboard lights will turn orange when you're in your user row. Pairing is straightforward: move a mouse and press a key on the keyboard to link them together. Keyboard pairing means linking a keyboard to a mouse, effectively creating a virtual user.
